mobco Enables ACEG’s Transition to a Future-Proof All-Apple Workplace
As a leading Belgian inspection body, ACEG ensures the safety and compliance of electrical grids, gas installations, high-voltage networks, elevators, and more. This precision extends to its IT strategy. To ensure seamless operations for both office staff and field inspectors, ACEG established an Apple-centric IT environment. With the expertise of mobco, a CWSI company, this decision rapidly grew beyond a hardware choice, becoming the foundation for a secure, mobile and future-proof workplace.

Enhancing Safety & Efficiency with Apple
ACEG stands at the forefront of safety and compliance in Belgium, ensuring that electrical grids, high-voltage infrastructure, gas installations, elevators, and environmental systems meet the highest standards. Yet, their expertise goes beyond inspections, they provide businesses with the assurance that their critical infrastructure is safe, compliant, and built to last. To deliver on this mission, ACEG combines deep technical knowledge with a powerful digital ecosystem built on Apple technology.
After rigorous testing across multiple brands and platforms, it became clear that Apple consistently delivered the best balance of performance, ease of use, and sustained reliability. Beyond its premium build and seamless user experience, Apple’s unmatched stability led to a lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) over time.
With minimal support required, transitioning the entire workplace to Apple was a natural progression. “ACEG has been using Apple products for quite some time now. Our field workers rely on iPhones and iPads for their inspections, while office staff primarily use MacBooks for their daily tasks, as they are more convenient for everyday work,” Dieter Herbots, Head of Information Technology at ACEG, explains. “We believe Apple delivers superior quality, with a lower total cost of ownership. Their devices are more user-friendly and require less support, which is why we prefer working with Apple devices.”
Managing and Securing Apple Devices at Scale
As the organisation grew, so did the need for enhanced support in managing and securing its expanding fleet. Recognising the importance of a reliable partner, ACEG sought expertise that extended beyond just supplying devices. “ACEG is familiar with the Apple portfolio and are comfortable with the various models”, Gertjan Timmermans, Business Support Director at mobco, explains. “They knew exactly what they needed but they were looking for a partner who could not only supply the devices but also help with deploying, managing and securing their fleet at scale.”
As an Apple Authorised Reseller, mobco plays a crucial role in seamlessly onboarding ACEG’s devices. By enrolling them directly into Apple Business Manager, the deployment process is fast, secure, and fully automated, eliminating the need for IT intervention.
Smarter Hardware Management
To further simplify and streamline the acquisition of new hardware, ACEG onboarded mobco’s Workplace platform. Designed to enhance automation at every stage of the device lifecycle, the platform ensures a seamless process from procurement to delivery. “With Workplace, ACEG has a clear overview of device availability, including delivery timelines. The ordering process is straightforward, and thanks to built-in automation, they remain informed at every stage, from order confirmation to receiving a tracking link upon shipment,” Gertjan Timmermans explains.
But Workplace is more than just a procurement tool. It seamlessly integrates into ACEG’s IT ecosystem, ensuring that new devices are not only ordered efficiently but also set up and secured from day one. “Beyond simplifying the purchasing process, the platform automates essential backend operations, such as integrations with Apple Business Manager and Jamf, making device management more efficient and scalable,” Dieter Herbots adds.
Scaling Securely
As ACEG continued to expand, so did the number of devices in use across the organisation. What was once manageable with manual processes quickly became a challenge, with each FTE now responsible for more than 1,000 devices. Ensuring smooth operations while maintaining security and compliance at scale required a shift towards greater automation.
“As the number of devices at ACEG grew rapidly, maintaining oversight became increasingly challenging. Implementing a UEM solution was key to strengthening security and compliance while also reducing the burden on the IT team,” Björn Kemps, BeLux Country Lead and Secure Endpoints Practice Lead at mobco, explains. “For ACEG, as an all-Apple enterprise, staying at the forefront of Apple’s latest UEM functionalities was essential. That’s why Jamf, with its Day-Zero support, was the clear choice.”
mobco played a crucial role in the transition, handling the initial setup and configuration while providing extensive training. “mobco unburdened us from start to finish, from the configuration of Jamf to implementation and training,” Dieter Herbots explains. The seamless rollout allowed ACEG to adopt Jamf quickly without disrupting daily operations. “Thanks to our years of experience, we were able to complete deployment in just a few days, with a focus on ease of use, operational efficiency, and security,” Björn Kemps adds.
Although we initially had a steep learning curve, the training ensured that ACEG’s team quickly became familiar with the platform. Today, they can manage configuration changes independently, with Jamf fully embedded in their security and management processes. New devices are automatically registered in Apple Business Manager and seamlessly deployed via Jamf, enabling effortless configuration and enforcement of security policies.
The Road Ahead
While ACEG initially questioned the potential of a fully Apple-standardised workplace, they are now seeing its advantages. “What sets mobco apart in deploying, managing, and securing an All-Apple Enterprise is its focus on automation, unburdening, and proactive thinking. Their expertise ensures our fleet remains secure, well-managed, and future-proof, without adding unnecessary complexity.”, Dieter Herbots explains.
Looking ahead, ACEG sees a strong future in its partnership with mobco. “There are more projects we can take on together, from optimising our existing configurations to further automating our rollout and underlying processes. Innovation is a key priority for us. We’re currently developing an Apple Vision Pro application and see endless possibilities ahead”, Dieter Herbots continues.
mobco is equally excited about the road ahead. “Collaborating closely with innovative companies like ACEG is what drives us at mobco. In the rapidly evolving world of end-user computing, we’re excited to explore new opportunities together, including Apple’s Vision Pro”, Björn Kemps concludes.
