Attent Zorg en Behandeling Enables Secure and Mobile Working with MobileIron MDM

Wilco van Tuijl, ICT Systems Coordinator at Attent Zorg en Behandeling, acts as the bridge between care and technology. In this case study, he zooms in on how Attent Zorg en Behandeling successfully introduced secure mobile working for its staff, the challenges that came with it, and how their long-standing partnership with Blaud helped lay the foundation for safer, smarter care.  

Putting Mobility in the Hands of Care Workers

With hundreds of health care professionals spread across 11 locations, Attent Zorg & Behandeling was looking for ways to simplify day-to-day routines without compromising the quality of care. Administrative tasks were taking up valuable time, time that could be better spent with patients.  

They saw an opportunity to reduce the administrative burden on its care staff through the smart use of technology. “Our aim is to make the work of our care professionals as easy and efficient as possible through the use of technology,” explains Wilco van Tuijl, ICT Systems Coordinator. “By enabling mobile reporting, our staff can now document their notes directly on their smartphones, right at the patient’s bedside. It not only saves time but also allows them to stay focused on what matters most: delivering personal, uninterrupted care.” 

The shift to mobile reporting made documentation faster and more intuitive, but it also introduced significant data protection concerns. “As more sensitive information started living on our smartphones, from personal data to photos and other confidential details, we needed a solution to manage and store that data securely, protecting both patient privacy and our compliance obligations,” Wilco explains. 

To turn that security challenge into a long-term solution, Attent Zorg & Behandeling partnered with Blaud, a trusted, long-standing strategic advisor. Blaud implemented MobileIron by Ivanti, a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) platform designed to secure and manage mobile devices across the entire organisation. Optimised for mobile-centric environments, MobileIron UEM enables wireless onboarding and configuration of devices, while enforcing security and compliance policies consistently across iOS, macOS, Android, and Windows 10, wherever care is delivered. 

By introducing a single, centralised platform, Attent Zorg en Behandeling not only streamlined device management but also strengthened its approach to data security across all endpoints. “With MobileIron in place, all smartphones, iPads, and laptops are now centrally managed, giving us both consistency and control,” explains Wilco. “It ensures our care teams work in a consistent, secure way, and gives us full confidence that patient data is protected at all times.”
